Trouba was great last night.
Best game he's played since the injury. He seemed tentative when he came back and really who can blame him. Last night....not so much.

Good to see the toughness in general. There hasn't been any fights at all lately and some liberties were being taken. When Peluso beat the Falk out of his opponent it changed things on the ice a lot.

It was a beauty of a game... save for the 1st. Noel's logic > my logic. Thorburn played great out there... a grinding presence on that line. The one element, it would seem that what's been lacking/missing.

I hope we trade Kane.

I know Montreal showed interest in him in the off season. Pacioretty for Kane I would do that deal.

Just curious what Jets fans think...would moving Kane down to the 3rd or 4th line and telling him to focus on the little things work for him? Or is he a "me first" kind of guy that wouldnt respond well to that kind of treatment?

I'll take the bait... I personally think he'd lose his poop... and demand a trade.

He is a me first kind of guy for sure but he also wants to be the best and known as the best. You hit the nail on the head though he has to do the little things as well.

That's why I think the second line had success, Thorburn knew what he was to do, did it and stuck to a simple game plan and thus the other guys had more opportunities, at least by my eyes. Have verified it statistically.

Find a guy who can do that with a bit more upside than Thorburn....or wait maybe they could all try and do some little things!

Frustrating, ive been a fan of Kane ever since he knocked Matt Cooke out clean. The skill is there for him, just obviously would like to see him play the fabled "all around" game everyone covets.

Kane is the poster of someone who is "hard to play with". If you have played the game at any level, you will have played with a guy like him. He is a puck hog, can't see the ice, will throw it around the boards when you're alone in the slot and pass it into the slot when you're in the corner. Any shot that doesn't score ends up gloved down by the goalie or careening around the glass and out of the zone. No rebounds, no pass. I have played with a couple Evander Kanes and they will make you work your ass off for nothing.

Kane is not using his strengths properly. He should style his offensive game after Brett Hull. Find the open ice. Take the pass. Rip it. Celly. Repeat.

On another note, why are Jets sports writers and bloggers (ahem) so embarrassed about giving credit to or acknowledging the talent of guys like Thorburn and Peluso? I thought Thorbs played a great game yesterday. He has excellent speed and good enough hockey sense. Peluso's hands aren't just for pounding, has no nobody on the writing side seen that move he made in close on the Rangers goal that missed by inches? The boy can play. And yet the Free Press headline says "Peluso on the PP. Yes we are that desperate" what does that mean? That the Jets are loaded with sublime talent and courageous guys who will stand in front of the net? I don't think so. I would take Peluso as a regular over Tangradi any day because he has been a more effective player overall.

Every Jets fan saw the entire team was playing two inches taller last night with Thorbs and Peluso dressed. That's no coincidence.
